I'm constantly forgetting turning my points into score. Many times I'm still clicking and then the game is over and I didn't manage to convert all. |

no need to click the EXACT time that the game will end, just start to click a little before, won't make difference |

I'm with ziggystar, they should convert automatically. Sometimes the end of the game is a bit frantic, I don't like thinking that I've lost points because I was trying to finesse the game 'til the bitter end. |

Isn't that part of the strategy? You gotta make sure you use left over points before you die or beat all the levels. |

Maybe using the points before you die is part of the strategy. But I didn't ask for that.
Using up your points before the last critter is killed is just not forgetting to click a dozen of times on that button. |

the only thing that bothered my a bit was that spending powerups for points is worth more later in game like spending for money.
i agree with the money part. but points should be more early in game, as you lower your chances by spending them early and have no backup anymore. |

This should not be changed. That you have to pay careful attention to your points, as well as so many other things going on at the same time (including how many points you've accumulated at the end for you to convert), is part of the game. How well you juggle them all is reflected in the score.
"Using up your points before the last critter is killed is just not forgetting to click a dozen of times on that button."
You click on many buttons, towers and critters throughout the game. When, which and in what combination is part of the strategy. Forgetting or not forgetting the "when", "which" and order is the sort of skill that's being gauged in these tournaments. |

Instead of automatically converting the points, how about lives having points value, which would be added to the score at the end? |

Although it's not obvious, you do end up with a higher score if you have more lives at the end than someone else because you killed the creep that they leaked. |

I'm with ziggy.
202Now - if You leak a creep You lose score for that creep. Leaked more = score is lower. No leak = bigger score as a reward, don't need t reward for this again.
Edit: Sparti was faster. Same thinking here. |

I also like crumb's idea of getting the bigger points when spending early instead of late.
Maybe that would also diminish the problem of forgetting in the end, because you would simply sell the points as soon as you get them in order to get a big score.
I've never really seen the point in the current system. (no pun intended) |

I agree, I'd rather people use them early. The should be rewarded for not saving them for a rainy day.
But I can't give someone 500 points (for example) on level 5 (when the creeps are worth 5 points) for collecting points early... and 20 points for someone collecting them just before they die (since creeps at that point are worth hundreds of points) |

No idea what the problem is.
Seems a lot of suggested changes on the forum would make the game TOO easy.. Next we want the game to juggle for us, or suggest the longest maze, or make upgrades for us..
Just as volcano towers not selecting creeps closest to exit, the point system is also a part of the game which keeps you on your toes, which is good :)

Weird but I agree with both the original poster and Sparticus.
Spending your points in time is part of the game; however having your points spend when the last creep dies is sometimes difficult.
Proposal that makes both ends come together: change remaining points to score if *and only if* the game comes to an end, i.e. when the last creep really dies and not escapes through the exit.
If a game ends when your lives end or the last creep survives, you will thus not get rewarded...

do you see the logic in my post? it would solve those problems.
don't you agree that one takes more risc to spent all powerups for points as soon as he gets them, as he has no backup like the nuke? if one is sure to solve the game without extra money, lifes or nuke he could score by taking this risc. it would provoke balancing even more. let's say you know you need only one nuke so you leave 10 power ups for that. questions appear like: how long can you wait to save them, or do you spend your time in takeing the points immediately or in placing towers and upgrading. it would not only remind saving up all of them as long as u can and bring more hurry during the game instead of at the end of it. i know this would change some gameplay but it could be worth a thought. |
