Is there a FAQ explaining how the game is scored?
Scoring Points
1. You only gain a creeps point value if you kill it. If it exits your map then you lose out on it's points.
2. The longer you wait to use your Powerups, such as "Buy Points", the higher the point value gained from each point bought.
Items I'm wondering about:
1. Say a map has no powerups at all, would you gain more points, the faster you finish a map?
2. You play a map twice. Play 1)Finish faster than Play 2), but you use more of your powerups to kill off the creeps. Play 2)You wait and use all your powerups on "Buy Points" at the end of the map. Everything else about Play 1 & 2 are the same, i.e. you killed all the creeps. etc. I would gander that the Play when you buy points would have the higher score.
Any other tips?

Here is the formula for the point power up andt the extra cash power up.
Points:
Lowest alive wave multiplied by 5 = points you get per use. That means the total cap is 1000 because the waves are capped by 200. 200x5=1000.
Cash:
Highest send wave, no matter if still alive or not, multiplied by 1.5. So here is the cap at 300.

I hope sparticus will add some other usefull formulas or will correct me and mahleumon, if we are wrong. |

Ya, all seems right. If a map has no powerups at all, you will get a higher score if you finish a map faster by sending waves early only. Killing them faster doesn't do anything.
You can also get a higher score by using the level points to make the creeps harder for you. |

i think mahleumon might have been asking for more details... or at least started me to question.
i know the early levels are worth 1 point per second you send them early. and a few levels in it goes to 2 points per second. but from there, i don't know.
but to answer the OP question...
lets say it's a 200 level map. you play the first 100 normal, then send the last 100 at once. since you need to use nukes and stoppers to kill them, you don't have many powerups to get bonus points. at level 200 you're losing out on 5000 points for every time you have to use a nuke and another 5000 if you use the stopper twice. i don't think you can get 10,000+ points by sending waves early.
now, a 50 level map, it's only 250 points per nuke and 2x stopper. so maybe, but most maps don't give that many powerups so early. |
