I see some replays priced at 300 to 800 GP.
Okay, those people want to make some quick GP on their replays, and/or do not want to share their "awesome skills". But if i buy a replay, i only do it to see if there is some other/new tactic i never thought of, so the price of the replay must be in par with the amount of EXP/GP i get if i get close to it. Why would i spent half my GP on a replay if all i get from it is max 80 GP or something?
Don't people get that? Or are they just that focused on getting GP so they can be "epic"? Hope not, till now the people on this site have been very kind by sharing replays and tactics.

Oh well, IMHO, those people asking those ridiculous high GP-prices will never get any extra GP from that, and be ignored by the community and leave. It's just not (again, IMHO) what this site is about..
It's more about friendly banter and competition, and having fun doing TD-maps and learning along the way.

If you do not want to share your tactics, just do what MrCake does, do not put up a replay price, period.

Its true..
in like any other game where its up to the user on how high to set the prices. they can either set the price really high.. and hope to get 1 buyer... or set it really low.. and get a shit ton of buyers, But this all depends on how good your score is as well

Ive played a lot of games where there is a market and people put there items up for bargain.. and you have to consider how much money or geek points in this case people have, and base it off that.

But this is just my opinion.. people are free to set it as high as they want.. or not set a price at all if they dont want people to view it

One of the reasons very good players don't put up a replay price is because they have a strategy that they'd like to keep to themselves. I don't blame them.

On the same note, they can set their replay price to 300 which basically means, "I don't want people to see my replay, but if you really want to, it'll cost ya".

My recommendation is to beat their score and set your replay price to 200 :D

Hehehe i try to do that, and then i set my replay to something like 5 GP, just to teach em some manners :P
It's not about making GP, it's about getting better at BTGTD and have some more competitors!
What if you're always at the top?! No challenge there..
Learn people some new tricks, and suddenly be challenged in the next tournament ;)

You mean teach people new tricks?

If you've got time left, and you set your price at five GP, you're going to get challenged in that tournament.

So do the maps themselves. Hell, once we graduate from this system, we're going to all be supergood at TD games.

Watching replays make you start the game and do the same strategy, and if you can, do better!
i think that they put high 'cause if you watch, probably will have more chances to getting a better score

idk about everyone else but when i watch replays its because my strategy on that tourny isnt working as well as i'd like so i just wanna see something different, not necessarily something that got first place but just anything different so i can get a different perspective on that map. i almost never buy them in the top 3 or 5 i just look for the cheapest one.

Same here Ganja, i buy replays when i'm stuck on a map, and am kinda blocked on how to do it different.

i put a high price because i believe i have a good strategy that i don't want other people to imitate. i don't care much about the xp or the gp. i have won many tournaments with that strategy and you are lucky i even consider to put it to sale for 500 gp.
why should i sell something that gives me so much victories and fun? what is the price on that?

Yeh.
Erm. Okay, guess not everyone sees the joy of sharing.
Some people just want to be on the top looking down.

It is not so much about not wanting to share I have just put a lot of time into getting my strategy down and I don't want everyone to see what I do without having to go through all the trial and error that I had to.

Exactly. If you have perfected a map and don't want to tell others how you did it, I don't blame you. That's why putting a replay price is completely optional.
