I don't get it. As you can tell by the number of hours (I mean days) I have spent on this site, I LOVE TD and all the maps that the members create and contribute. What I don't get, is the low participation in giving the thumbs up (or down). The more maps with the 8 thumbs up means we have more choices for play at any given time since 8 thumbs up means the map goes into auto rotation. So why aren't more people voting???? If there's no particular reason, maybe this post will remind some people about this option. :-)

Ya, if you enjoyed a map, it only takes 1 second to click the thumbs up (or thumbs down if you didn't like it).

Just remember, there are really good maps out there that disappear forever cause they don't get votes. They can only stick around if they get enough votes :)

I vote, but not on every map. Honestly, I'm just lazy.

hi!

if i play a costom map.
i probably never played it before. or i simply forgot how it was.
so i dont feel its fair to click on a random star. if i dont know if its good or bad.
but. afer i played a game i simply forget to rate it.

maybe you should force players to rate after a game. before they can continue. it wold only take a secend to rate.
i wouldn,t mind.

I would strongly recommend for you to not force people to rate stuff, if you do, I'll find a way around it, and so will everyone else who doesn't want to rate. Sometimes I just don't give enough of a shit to rate. :) I think it would be nice for the ability to rate to pop up at the end of your game or something tho.

I wasn't think so much about the stars, but the thumbs up that puts maps into auto rotation. I don't use the stars much myself.

I think there are too much maps available to play. so many maps, where there are 0 players.
So i would vote for less maps than more. But with a lot of players.

many of the automaticly added weekly tournies are much the same gameplay-wise. maybe the numer of those should get reduced by a few

How many do you think should be running at one time? 5 of each difficulty? 8? 10?

One thing about having more maps, say that your a lower level player and that map has Level Points enabled, then you have less of a chance in getting a GT, on a map with a lot of players. If that player would play a different map with smaller amount of players, then he has a better chance at winning and gaining that GT.

There is also the fact that, maybe you play a map and your the only one that has played it, but you played it just because you enjoy that map in particular. Not really looking for anything in return on that play, basically just for fun.

Ok, to my thoughts. I don't mind having many maps at once. I think, if your looking to play against others or for Exp etc., then your going to join the ones that have the most players already. My suggestion is, to cut out say 5 in medium and 3 in hard, but also have more Voted Custom maps in rotation at one time.

my suggestion, just how i feel, close to malheumon:

easy: 4
medium: 8
hard: 8
very hard: 8
impossible: 2

--> a minimum of 30 maps

of course the number of tournaments will go up as custom maps get started additionally, but as long as the total number doesn't drop under 30, the site would not feed new ones.

and i agree with giving voted custom ones more wheight for the rotation

Ok, for now I have it running the number lordcrumb posted. Although I am leaning towards what Mahleumon said... 30 maps might be a bit much... I personally find it more fun to compete against many players, and when there are 30+ maps, they aren't as full.

I also agree it should favor starting custom maps more often... :)

However, since I'm working my butt off to get MPBTGTD released before the twins arrive, I won't have time to implement that feature.

So, it's humanly possible you'll all be playing MPBTGTD within the next 30 days.... assuming the twins don't come early :P

On the subject: I don't play very often so I like to have as much choice as possible - some maps I won't touch. So please keep the 30+

Offtopic: Congrats Sparti! I'll be clicking on a sponsor message more often, as you have more mouths to feed ;-)
