People were talking about this in "is it too hard", in so much as 'we should have a super easy mode', but I think it could be simpler in execution and probably more difficult to code than that.
What you do is have a box where you type in a number from 1 to 100 after you've played the level. Instead of the difficulty being one of five or six classes, you now have a number that tells you how tough the game is. The one number you're going to get at the end could be the mean or the median of all of the numbers given, perhaps throwing out the most extreme 1% in either direction to account for trolls.
That could help make things easier for the players. Who knows? |

My biggest mistake I made was not adding a in-game tutorial that you are forced to play your first game. I've watched so many replays where people random place towers all over the place and then die. Or others start build 2 frost towers at the beginning and can't beat level 1.
I'm hoping as people play the game (and maybe read my help pages) they'll figure out the strategies and the easy level will become easier.
I will however (maybe tomorrow) be adjusting the creeps difficulty slightly so new players have a chance :) |

There's nothing wrong with failing your first time. The only thing wrong is not coming back afterward. And that's not up to you. |

I agree with John. Trial and error is part of the beauty of all this. If you're scared away by the difficulty, go play the plethora of overly-simplistic TD games out there. |

I won't change anything to do with creep's hp or tower damage without the majority agreeing it needs to be done.
BTGTD is definitely harder than other TD's for new players. Practice makes perfect, and the replays allow you to learn from others that are better than you. |

You could disable setting a price for replays on super-easy tournaments?
So that all replays are visible, so new players can look and learn in the beginning. |

Hmm, I really like that idea PhaE. Unless anyone objects I will try and implement that today
All replays for any tournament labeled "Easy" will have they replay available to watch by all
(I don't have a super-easy category, Is all easy tournaments work?)

Yeah was referring to those level 1-1 games :)
But most people playing those are not playing em for long, so easy-games = free replay sounds like a good idea :D |
