I am a software developer. I've worked for oil and gas companies as well as gaming companies. I worked for Pokerstars for 5 years making casino games and have since moved on to a small startup company making mobile games :)

i first worked as a freelancer, from art installations, theatre in berlin, gamedesign (leveldesign and sound), scientific visualisation, drawing, kids book illustrations, doku video, intro video, sounddesign, photographer for the national arts museum and finally concentrated on architectural visualisation 'cause that's where the money was after they cut in almost every corner of culture spending. this summer i finish my secondary education as architecture drawer (shortened to 2 years).
be glad i spare you all the part time jobs in industry and computer support ... ;)
i'm looking forward - fiiinally after this summer - to get an awesome and regular paycheck *phew* as visualizer and drawer

btw. anonemouse stats prof sounds fitting :)

Some pretty technical people here.

lordcrumb, you seem pretty arty, how'd you get into that? Were you just naturally into drawing or general artistry?

jup, drawed since childhood, woodwork, sculptry, 3d, since father is a long time photographer also digital photography from early on, made the diploma of scenographical design. but working as a freelancer still only turned out for a few years. working full time and having music projects running - just have drawed a storyboard for a animation short that will come out after summer - i have little time for creating visual stuff like here on btg

Using excel for statistics is blasphemy, I use R for that. But seriously, I'm not the best juggler here, but I do plan things out well.

I used to be an Adult Education Instructor (helping people prepare for the GED or learn the English language), mostly in County Jails. Then I was the program director for awhile. I've been a photo journalist, retail sales management for music store, college instructor (English/writing), and now - partly retired with two part time jobs. One - social painting, one engraving and making awards and trophies. My hobbies include ham radio and I just started learning blacksmith skills for art work. Not sexy. Not single - married 32 years.

Now I feel lazy for only doing one thing.

I've had plenty of years to try these different careers, thanks for the compliment though Anonemouse. Lordcrumb, some of the job changes were my choice, some not. Gotta do what you gotta do and hopefully enjoy it.
