I made some tournaments, but i'm reluctant to start them. They cost around 600, and then i did not even have that much waves, because it gets so expensive. So i'm thinking about dividing the cost of the tournament by the number of players, e.g. 600 / 30 , so the entry fee would be 20 GP. At least i don't loose 600 GP, and i can make some more maps.

BUT!
Would anyone pay the GP to play? See some tournaments in the list with an entry fee, and 0 people who played it. Maybe because of the level restriction (12+, come on, no-one is lvl 12 yet!)..

I know if the price was reasonable i wouldn't mind paying the GP, but am i alone in this? :P

Good :)
Made a juggling map, 5 sell delay, no increment, 300 starting gold, hard creeps. But only 50 waves. Wanted it to be a bit like Desktop Tower Defense "The 100" level :)
Big open space to make a juggle-maze :D
But for every wave i add to it, the cost goes up by 5 GP.
So gonna save up a bit more, put some more waves in it, and start it without level restrictions.

The costs to create tournaments can be changed. Those were just the initial values I came up with. I am open to any suggestions. If you feel it's too expensive I can lower the cost of certain sections.

I do want it so that it's expensive enough that we don't have 500 tournaments running at once....

Currently you can only create a tournament and invite your friends... eventually I'll make an option that you can invite the entire site.

OH wow, didn't know you could only invite friends! Time to invite everyone to the friend list then. Cause the Entry fee with only 2 friends would be kind of high ;)
I thought those public games were also self made by other users :)

Maybe make it cheap if you just want to play with some friends (like, max 5?), and make it more expensive when you want to go public?
And then prohibit asking for an entry fee if its not public, because it would be easy for someone with double accounts or anything to "feed" himself GP.
(Or did i just gave some people an idea? :P )

Ya, I'll make it so creating a tournament for your friends is cheaper... and creating a tournament for the entire site will be quite a bit more.

All the maps you see in the tournament page are default maps. I created about 50 to start with but add more everyday. Whenever I see a good tournament/map someone else made I make it into an official map.

FYI: When an official tournament ends, it auto creates a new random tournament (of similar difficulty) in it's place. So, eventually when there are hundreds (or thousands) of maps, you may not see the same map very often.

There are over 50... and I add more every day. But there are not 50 maps actually running at the same time for you to choose from. When one tournament ends, it randomly starts a new map (1 of the 50).

Hope that makes sense.
