.... is not quite done yet. You will notice the first part of it when you view your profile (or other peoples profiles). This part of the new feature should be working. Let me know if it's not for you.
Please keep in mind it costs 25 geek points to place a point!
I also have completed the ability for map creators to turn off certain upgrades when designing their tournaments. This should be working too...
The last part I need to finish (which might be done today or tomorrow at the latest) is for the upgrades to actually do what they say they should do in the game itself. So if you put points into "Extra Lives", this won't work in the game until I release the game update.
Let me know if anything isn't working. I'll let you know when the game has been updated.
Thanks |

I was just reading some old forum posts - in early September you expressed a concern about BTG not using up GP, that GP would just accumulate. Clearly this level-point system is a way to get people to spend GP (let's keep the economy buzzing!).
What if the point cost was a sliding scale, though? Instead of a flat 25 GP per point, then ramp it up as people apply points to a given attribute. Want to apply a 6th point to rate-of-fire? That'll be 250 GP, please. |

I think sierrajeff's idea with the sliding scale would be much better than the static 25 gp per point... |

Hmm, I like that idea!
How does this sound :
1st point in upgrade : 5GP
2nd : 10GP
3rd : 20GP
4th : 40GP
5th : 80GP
6th : 160GP
7th : 320GP
8th : 640GP
9th : 1,280GP
10th : 2,560GP
11th : 5,120GP
12th : 10,240GP
You might say "omg, 10240 gp!" But there are 4 people on the site that have that much :P |

that seems a bit expensive.. though if this is incorporated, will the already used upgrades be removed and refunded? |

With the sliding scale the "law of diminishing returns" would advise against placing the 12th or probably even 10th point until/unless you were just swimming in GP and had upgraded other things as well. |

ya, that might be a bit expensive.... lol.
How about this :
1st point in upgrade : 10GP
2nd : 20GP
3rd : 30GP
4th : 40GP
5th : 50GP
6th : 75GP
7th : 100GP
8th : 125GP
9th : 150GP
10th : 200GP
11th : 250GP
12th : 500GP
And if I implement this I'll probably remove all used upgrades and refund the geekpoints |

Alright, I've just gotta say 2 things:
1. It's way cool you even know how to do this stuff. Kinda blows my mind. Check's in the mail.
2. It's way cool you listen to the suggestions so willingly. Not that you employ every one, but so far, all changes have been for the better. Major kudos! |

Don't knoe if its by design, but;
If i add points, GP gets deducted, as said above.
But if i then remove the points again, no GP is refunded (also, no prob, but dunno if this is how it's supposed to be?).
And if i add points again, the GP is deducted again, so i'm paying double for points.
I did put em back where i got em btw. |

Ya, it costs points everytime you place a point. Removing is free.
This is by design to prevent people from moving points around based on the tournament they are about to join. You can still do that, it'll just cost ya a bit :) |
